how to measure
taking measurements doesn’t have to be a stressful affair. we only need two very important measurements – the width and the height of your wall, in meters or centimeters or millimeters or inches or feet or yards – whatever works for you.
- for the width, measure the horizontal distance of the wall from the right to the left-hand sides.
- for the height, measure the vertical distance of the wall from the floor to the ceiling.
- then combine the width of each wall and multiply this by the ceiling height.
- this will give you the square footage/meterage that is required, then divide this number by the square footage of a single roll and that will give you an idea of how many rolls you require.
*please also ensure that you demarcate specifically which measurement is the width and which is the height when you send us your specifications.
prepping the wall
your wall needs to be properly prepared for it to receive its new wallpaper.
if your wall is properly prepared, the wallpaper will be correctly applied, its adhesive will be far more effective and there will be no bumps or spots which will ruin the effect.
if your wall is properly prepared, it will also make it easier to remove the wallpaper should you wish to change it in the future.
please follow the guidelines below on how to ensure that your wall is ready for its new dressing:
- remove any wallpaper that is currently on the wall.
- remove any hooks, nails or protruding services.
- remove any dirt, dust or residue on your wall with warm water and detergent.
- paint your feature wall with new emulsion white paint (optional).
- repair any flaking paint or nail holes in the wall.
- ensure that your wall is prepared with breathable paint as the wet glue will need to dry through the wall.
- a universal undercoat is more than enough.
- do not use oil-based paints to prepare your wall.
- all walls and/or wooden surface needs to be prepped, primed and painted with a universal oil based primer and 2 coats of 100% fully washable paint.(ie velvaglo).
installing your wallpaper
basic tips for installing our wallpaper:
- make sure your wall is clean, smooth, and ideally of a light consistent colour.
- there mustn’t be any fixtures or fittings present.
- if you have just recently painted your wall, allow specified drying time before applying your wallpaper. check the paint instructions.
- make sure that you have help for the installation, two people working together makes a big difference! and it’s more fun to do it together.
- and lastly, make sure you’re using the paper printed layout provided with your wallpaper. arrange all the wallpaper panels in the correct order and you can get started.
installation:
- remove everything from wall, bed, side tables etc
- plot it out, make sure the paper is sufficient. mark roughly where each drop will go. use a spirit level here.
- paste the wall, or paste the paper depending on the material supplied.
- use a nontoxic, water-based heavy-duty wallpaper glue, in flake form to be mixed with water. pattex and gemchem make a good product. look here: Takealot.com
- align laser level (if you have one) at first mark, starting from left to right.
- apply first drop along laser level line. smooth out all bubbles. cut away excess paper from skirting etc..
- repeat for next drop, overlapping join so pattern matches. using a straight edge, do a cut-through join to make overlap a butt-join.
- continue the process till the wall is complete.
- wipe away excess glue on and around paper.
- do a final once over to make sure no bubbles, and joins are somewhat invisible.
removing your wallpaper
should you decide to move premises, or install a new wallpaper on your feature wall, you may find yourself in the predicament of having to remove your previously installed wallpaper.
this is a relatively simple process, which can be done with relatively no damage to your wall!
- for our standard wallpaper, simply use a bucket of water and a sponge, and wet the wallpaper panels from top to bottom, ensuring that the wallpaper is always wet.
- begin to peel the paper slowly from the wall – always keeping the wallpaper wet.
* this process may leave some adhesive residues on your wall, but don’t stress – these can be cleaned with warm water, a sponge and detergents.

AIRTEX®
AIRTEX® magic FR duo.
its surface has a textile texture, lending the fabric a natural, cosy radiance.
the vinyl coating is very sturdy and makes the surface scratch-proof, dirt-resistant and hygienic.
for this reason, AIRTEX® magic FR duo is not only designed for commercial decorations but is also eminently suited for use as wall coverings in low-germ environments, such as doctor‘s offices and hospitals.
the grey back coating on the back renders the substrate nearly opaque.
walls, therefore, require no pre-treatment.
existing spots, scratches, joints or other blemishes do not shine through.
this results in a considerable time and cost savings.
it is produced in widths of up to 3.2 cm so this allows the jointless application of wall coverings with impressive dimensions.
